GalaxSea: A Voyage Into the Bioluminescent Night
GalaxSea: A Voyage Into the Bioluminescent Night is a short film written and directed by Itzel-Marine Gourmelon and stars Nora Spratt.
The film explores the journey of a young woman who, guided by the wonder of the unknown, overcomes her fears and discovers a magical world filled with hidden luminescent life and starlight. A world rarely seen due to our fear of the unknown and city light pollution.
The film is about exploring the unknown and weaves between space exploration and kayaking at night on dark coastal waters.

Set against the backdrop of coastal Maine, this surreal sci-fi film merges visual storytelling with themes of courage and wonder.
The film stems from a unique collaboration with artists, scientists, and organizations like the Maine Maritime Academy, where it premiered by projecting onto the sails of the schooner Bowdoin.
PyroFarms is proud to be one of the scientific collaborators and supplied the GalaxSea crew with bioluminescent phytoplankton (PyroDinos) and scientific advice.
