Bioluminescent waves at Torrey Pines State Beach.

San Diego was rewarded another Bioluminescent algae bloom.

This is caused by marine dinoflagellates (microalgae) when their population increases under ideal conditions. Some refer to this event as a ‘red tide’.

PyroFarms grows these PyroDinos (dinoflagellates) in our San Diego lab. They are fun to grow and beautiful to watch at night - especially in nature.

During the daytime, these PyroDinos (dinoflagellates) also produce fresh oxygen for us to breathe.  And they remove the greenhouse gas (CO2) and other toxins from the air.  They help combat global warming on a global scale.
